New Photo and Food Apps Focus on Cancer Care

Today, we wanted to take a moment to share a couple of free mobile apps. Both were developed here at Dana-Farber but they have very different uses.

The first app is for the iPad and it’s very simple – a year’s worth of beautiful photos showing some of the happier moments in the lives of our patients and staff.

Portraits of Care

We know that there are many hardships on the road that begins with a cancer diagnosis. But this app – or more accurately the inspiring people it captures  –warms our hearts with hope.

You can download the app here.

If you don’t have an iPad, you can still enjoy the photos online from your laptop or desktop computer.

The second app is for the iPhone or iPad and it’s called “Ask the Nutritionist: Recipes for Fighting Cancer.” As you might imagine, it’s filled with recipes for meals, healthy living, managing side-effects and much more. You can take it with you while grocery shopping.

The app also includes tips from nutritionists and an extensive database of questions, answered by registered dieticians. If you, or someone you know, is looking for recipes to guide you through cancer treatment – or for some general eating tips you can use for the rest of your life — download the app here.
