Every year, approximately 70,000 adolescents and young adults are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S., accounting for roughly 4 percent of the total cancer population.
These patients often have to face unique challenges while they are also facing cancer. Many are in the middle of exciting life changes, such as high school, college, or the beginnings of a career. They often may feel stuck, or like they are moving backward, while others in their lives are moving forward.
